Jackson Investigation Mystery Date

Big clue in the Michael Jackson investigation -- the LAPD detective leading the probe indicated January 18, 2010 may be a significant date.

MIchael Jackson

Detective Orlando Martinez
asked a Las Vegas judge this AM to keep search warrant documents related to Applied Pharmacy secret until January 18. Law enforcement sources told us previously cops didn't want the warrant made public until the investigation was completed.

As we first reported, the LAPD believes Applied Pharmacy supplied Dr. Conrad Murray with the Propofol that ultimately killed Michael Jackson. They are on the hunt to make sure other pharmacies didn't supply Propofol.

Janet Jackson -- Family Interventions Failed

According to Janet Jackson, her family had tried several times to stage interventions before Michael died of a drug overdose -- but, obviously, they "weren't very successful."

In an interview with Robin Roberts, Janet talked about their attempts to get Michael clean, and though she says he understood "that it was out of love," she added "people tend to be in denial."

As we previously reported, Janet holds Dr. Murray responsible for killing her brother.

Janet Jackson -- Don't Let Murray Kill Again

Janet Jackson doesn't want Dr. Conrad Murray to continue practicing medicine -- because she doesn't want the man she holds "responsible" for her brother's death to strike again on "someone else."

In an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, Janet also said she doesn't know if Murray was the only doctor hooking Michael up with drugs -- but added "the truth always prevails."

Janet Jackson -- Dr. Murray Killed My Brother

Janet Jackson is finally pointing the finger at the man she believes killed her brother -- Dr. Conrad Murray.

Janet jackson

In an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, Janet stated, "He was the one that was administering ... I think he is responsible."

Murray has admitted to administering Propofol to Michael Jackson, but claims he didn't kill Michael.

In the interview, which airs Wednesday, Janet also claims Murray should no longer be allowed to practice medicine.

Janet also says Michael is constantly on her mind, saying "It's been a tough year ... You have your days where it's just really -- it's hard to believe. And a day doesn't go by that I don't think about him."

Jackson also recounts June 25 -- the day Michael died -- saying, "I was at my house in New York. You know, another day. Another morning. And I get a call ... [my assistant] said, 'Your brother's been taken to the hospital. It's on CNN right now. I called everyone's. There's a line busy or -- someone wasn't picking up. I spoke to mother. I spoke to Tito. I spoke to my nephew Austin. I spoke to my sister La Toya."

Jackson added, "I told them to call me when they got to the hospital. And I remember thinking nobody's calling me back, so I tried calling again, and that's how I found out that he was no longer ... I couldn't believe it."

"It just didn't ring true to me. It felt like a dream. It's still so difficult for me to believe. It's, you know, you have to accept what is. But it's hard. You have to move on with your life. You have to accept what is and I understand that."

Delay in Jackson Case -- The Ghost of OJ

Michael Jackson's homicide investigation is taking longer than expected because -- as one law enforcement source connected with the case said -- "We've had bad luck with big cases like OJ in the past, and we don't want to repeat those mistakes."

Michael Jackson OJ Simpson

The source also pointed to the Robert Blake case, which some experts believe was also botched. But the source added, "There is not a problem with the case. Time is on our side. We want to do this right." The L.A. County D.A.'s office and the LAPD are working as a unit to "anticipate defense strategies and prepare for them." The D.A.'s office is actively involved, requesting lots of info from the LAPD.

One of the issues: authorities have keyed in on Applied Pharmacy in Las Vegas -- they want to make sure there are no other pharmacies that sent the Propofol in question to Dr. Conrad Murray.

Another issue: authorities have gone back to their medical experts for more input, as "strategies have changed" in a case they call "very complicated."

As for when the investigation will wrap: now authorities are saying they'd like to end it "before the Christmas holidays".... but that could get pushed to January.

Dr. Murray: Please Hold ... MJ is Dying

Dr. Murray and Michael JacksonDr. Conrad Murray was on the phone with his girlfriend as Michael Jackson was dying ... sources connected to the case tell TMZ.

We've learned Dr. Murray was on a cell phone with his girlfriend from Houston between 12:03 and 12:13 PM on June 25, 2009 -- the day Jackson died.

Sources say the girlfriend told LAPD detectives about 5 minutes into the call, she heard Dr. Murray abruptly drop the phone and then heard him administer CPR. The girlfriend said there was no indication Dr. Murray knew anything was amiss before dropping the telephone.

Sources say the girlfriend does not know if Murray was in the room with Jackson when he called her or if he walked in just before realizing MJ was in deep trouble.

The bodyguard called 911 at 12:21 PM, approximately 13 minutes after Dr. Murray dropped the phone.

It has been widely reported Dr. Murray was on the phone for 47 minutes before calling 911. It appears those calls were actually made before Dr. Murray realized Jackson was in distress.

Dr. Conrad Murray Surfaces

Dr. Conrad Murray has been as mysterious a figure as Michael Jackson himself, since the death of the King of Pop. We haven't seen him out and about for months -- until now.

Conrad Murray

Dr. Murray and his lawyer, Ed Chernoff, left the Beverly Regent Hotel last week. Dr. Murray, who is the target of the LAPD's homicide investigation, was holding a book called "Miami Babylon." The description in the jacket includes this passage: "From the mid-level coke deals and their suitcases of cash ... the Beach has seen it all."

But that's nothing compared to the Propofol deals in L.A. ...

Joe Francis Suing -- Jayde Threatened to Kill Me!

Joe Francis claims Brody Jenner's 115-pound girlfriend threatened to kill him during a bar fight back in August -- and now the Girls Gone Wild kingpin is suing, claiming he feared for his life.

Joe Francis Brody Jenner

According to the lawsuit, Francis claims he was innocently walking through a crowd of people at "Guys and Dolls" nightclub in Hollywood, when Playboy Playmate Jayde Nicole suddenly struck him in the head, threw a drink on him and stated, "I'm going to kill you!"

Francis claims he was "startled and shocked" -- but then he saw Jayde reaching for a bottle. In the docs, Francis claims "in fear and apprehension of being struck a third time and that Nicole was going to carry out her threat to kill him," Joe grabbed Nicole's hair in "self-defense."

Joe claims Nicole fell to the ground -- but only because she "lost her balance on her high heels."

Later that night, Francis claims Jenner attacked him "in a jealous rage."

Francis is now suing both Brody and Jayde for battery, assault, negligence, slander, libel and false light -- because after the bar incident, Francis claims the two lied when they recounted the incident to a TMZ cameraman who was outside the club.

La Toya -- Mom & I Won't Watch MJ Movie

Tickets are going fast for the limited engagement of the MJ concert doc "This Is It" -- but there are two people who aren't scrambling to get seats: Michael's own mother and sister.

La Toya Jackson: Click to watch
We got La Toya Jackson outside of Katsuya last night where she told us, "We're not seeing it, my mother, we're not seeing it."

As TMZ previously reported, 60 tickets were offered to the family, but Katherine insists no one ever called her about getting seats. We're also told Michael's three kids really want to see the flick.

Billy Mays' Son: South Park Did My Family Proud

Billy Mays: Click to launchThis may be the first time "South Park" and "tasteful" have ever been used in the same sentence -- but Billy Mays' son thinks the show did a "tasteful" job spoofing his departed dad on this week's episode.

Earlier today, Billy Mays III called into the MJ Morning Show raving about how proud he was to have his dad appear as a cartoon ghost ... who threatened to beat up the ghost of Patrick Swayze.

For the record -- it was pretty damn funny.

Considering the pitchman's death was about three months ago, Mays was shockingly positive -- and said "things are looking up."

Kate Can't Stop Jon

Jon Gosselin may have tragedy on his side ... the death of the judge's wife will probably give him a week to spend the loot he raided from the couple's joint bank account.

Kate Gosselin Jon Gosselin

Judge Arthur Tilson was supposed to decide today whether Jon would be ordered to return the $230,000 Kate says he took from their account.

Since the judge canceled the hearing because his wife died and won't be back until next week, Jon probably has seven glorious days to blow through the cash.

Kate's lawyers could go to another court, but the likelihood is another judge would not get in the middle of this mess. One source connected with the case says if Jon spends the money, the likely recourse for Kate is to dock Jon $230,000 when the assets of their marriage are finally divided up.

Of course, Jon could be a good boy and not spend the money he withdrew ... but how likely is that?

Jackson Investigation Wraps Up Next Week

Michael JacksonTMZ has learned the LAPD is on schedule to present the case against Dr. Conrad Murray to the L.A. County D.A.'s office next week.

As we first reported, LAPD detectives planned to wrap up their case and present it by the second week in October. They were waiting on some written evaluations by medical professionals who reviewed the evidence surrounding Michael Jackson's death.

Our law enforcement sources say the medical reports are in and the LAPD plans to formally present the case to the D.A. next week.

Prosecutors have been working with the LAPD for months now, so it's not as if the evidence will be a surprise.

Sources say Dr. Murray is still the sole target.

One well-placed law enforcement source says there's a "70/30 chance" the D.A. will take the case to the L.A. County Grand Jury rather than charge Murray directly.

As one source said, this could be a complicated case and a lengthy preliminary hearing wouldn't have a whole lot of upside for prosecutors. A grand jury indictment would be easy to get and it would avoid a prelim.

DJ AM's Estate: We Made a Mistake...

DJ AMPaper work is always a bitch -- and now DJ AM's estate is correcting a minor error that accidentally made the guy out to be one hell of a real estate tycoon!

It's all over papers filed in L.A. County Superior Court last month, which stated AM's real estate property generated $3.5 million PER YEAR.

But the estate now claims they goofed a little bit -- and should've stated that the total value of his real estate property was $3.5 mil.

The estate also noted that AM had a serious debt -- $2.9 million.

But on top of his real estate, AM had another $400,000 in "personal property." So after all of the math, the value of AM's estate stands at a cool $1,000,000.

Travolta Still Tight With Scientology

John Travolta John Travolta has not broken from Scientology, contrary to recent reports ... this according to sources connected to John.

Travolta testified in the Bahamian extortion case that his late son, Jett, was autistic. Until his testimony, Travolta never publicly acknowledged Jett's illness.

Travolta's silence on autism in years past was consistent with Scientology's unofficial position on the subject.

We're told some Scientology bigwigs are unhappy with John's recognition of Jett's condition, but Travolta remains "firmly committed" to the Church. In fact, we're told, he has used Scientology as "therapy" in trying to cope with Jett's death.

John, we're told, has never had his faith in Scientology shaken in the months following his son's death.
